My worst day turned out to be a whole week. I was commissioning a new high security data centre equipped with full resilience for power, comm’s and servers so lots of HP1U servers. As part of the commissioning works a third party supplier was to install some specialist BMS software. We were on a tight schedule as the building works had over run by 2 months and the end user was keen to get up and running. I had been spending 16 hour days on the job for the previous two weeks and one night at 23:30 I called it a day and went back to the Hotel for some well earned shut eye, leaving the third party Tech working on his software. Well, the next morning I looked through the Night time test logs (from some communication equipment constantly pinging remote data collectors over the internet) and noted that the ping returns were getting longer...
